Calamagrostis brachytricha  is an ornamental grass with erect feathery silvery gray flower plumes, slightly red-tinged, and turning gold in autumn and winter.  The leaves create mounds of arching, glossy-green leaves that turn yellow in autumn. The seed stems  look good as cut flowers. Does well in heavy clay soils and can tolerant some wet.
