Molinia caerula is a tall ornamental grass with an open growth habit. It has arching leaves topped in summer with a haze of delicate flower spikes that sway gracefully in the wind. The seed heads emerge green, then fade to purplish-brown and mature to a golden shade.  The seed heads provide a long season of interest in the border from Summer into Winter.
