Papaver nudicaule is a perennial poppy usually grown as an annual, with hairy, grey-green, pinnately lobed leaves.  It has tall stems that are leafless and are topped with brightly colored flowers, with papery thin, silky, and ruffled petals in a range of colours from red to pink, orange, yellow, and even white.
