Xerochrysum bracteatum - Strawflower

Xerochrysum bracteatum - Strawflower

Strawflowers are an Australian native and have coloured modified leaves called bracts which look like petals. The flowers are very long flowering and come in a variety of colors, including yellow, orange, red, pink and white. The flowers are held above narrow, light green leaves that are often covered in hairs which protect the plant from drying out. They make excellent cut and dried flowers and are attractive to bees.
