Symphyotrichum novi-belgii ‘Professor Kippenberg’ is a compact, bushy perennial with masses of charming lavender blue, daisy like flowers held above fresh green foliage. Its neat habit makes it particularly useful towards the front or middle of a mixed border, where it brings late colour without taking up too much space. A reliable and easy-care perennial, it combines beautifully with grasses and other late-season flowering plants and is equally at home in cottage and naturalistic gardens.
